I've had bad mornings, but not like this. Guy Berkhart wakes up screaming on June 15. He dreams of an explosion and something hitting his head. The same thing happens again the next day, and the next day, and the next. IEEEEEE. Only two people aren't affected by this "deja vu all over again." (Quoting Yogi Berra, not the writer of this story, Frederik Pohl.) A combination of Halloween III, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, and Groundhog Day. You're led to think one thing, then another, then another twist.
I first listened to this episode on cassette about ten years ago, when I was 11-12, and it really did a number on my head. Even that music that plays at the beginning of the episode gives me chills.

My absolute favorite. Ages ago when I was but a mere pratt, I would stay up late on Sunday nights to hear the old time radio show on public radio. This wasn't my first X Minus One episode, but it was the first one to really grab my attention and made me a fan. The script stays very true to the original Fred Pohl story, and this is a good thing indeed as XM1 was known to butcher plots from time to time.
