Excellent philosophic story by James Blish about scientists developing a microscopic race of humans as the Earth prepares to be destroyed by an expanding star.
There is another story out there, maybe Dimension X that uses the same idea of shrinking people which speeds up time. The setting is during a conflict like WWII. Any idea what it is?

Very nice story. This could really be made into a movie.

I had problems with this story. I understand, of course, that this is from the early days of SciFi and certain "innocent" oversights can be ignored in favor of the overall ideas and the beauty of radio theater. Still, if one writes a story, one needs to make sure there are no gaping holes in it.
To the point: If shrinking humans speeds up time to the point of a stream of micro-people generations appearing within mere big-people minutes, how can big-people observe the action of a single micro-ship on the surface? All of a sudden, the two clocks tick in synchrony.
Errors aside, I still loved the theme of the story.
